A real breakthrough in the history of Szczawnica became the construction of chairlift to the hill Palenica (722 m. above sea level). Palenica cable car turned out to be a real hit. Therefore, it was modernized and extended. In winter 2005 a fully modern, four-person chairlift was put into operation, which is a part of the whole ski, tourist and recreational complex. The system of pulling out makes the chairlift comfortable to get on and off. From spring to autumn at the upper station of the railroad a very popular trolley slide is open - a great attraction for both adults and children. Palenica Cable Railway in Szczawnica is a complex of: 4-person cable railroad Doppelmayr, 3 lifts on Glade Szafranówka, summer gravity slide, diversified ski routes located in the beautiful landscape of the Pieniny.
